Great research!!!
Here's a cooking booklet that Maria Parloa co-authored for Walter Baker & Co. cocoa & chocolates from 1900. https://www.reddit.com/r/CookingBOOKLETS/comments/12emsas/1900_choice_recipes_maria_parloa_elizabeth_k_burr/mehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09755752250568107298noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8312846753551267886.post-59650571199624134782021-04-14T05:22:15.507-07:002021-04-14T05:22:15.507-07:00Amy,

It debuted yesterday in an online magazine called The Grapevine that serves Bethel, Connecticut. More research and documentation still needs to be done but I hope you will still find it interesting. I hope you do not mind that the article contains a link to your website.
Best Wishes,
Pat Wild
Bethel Town Historian

https://www.bethelgrapevine.com/articles/the-mysterious-early-life-of-maria-parloa
PTBETHELhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06882047267935656963noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8312846753551267886.post-19477888114309729142019-08-15T09:30:55.143-07:002019-08-15T09:30:55.143-07:00Hi Tessaf--

She lived with and mostly hung out with those of English decent, likely in her early years. I don't know that she was adopted. Did you find anything that suggest that. Always happy to chat more about Maria.
Amy Sherwoodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12008595126103940935noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8312846753551267886.post-6409962288464341982019-08-14T18:19:53.685-07:002019-08-14T18:19:53.685-07:00Hi Amy, Great site. It doesn't look like she married so I think her surname is probably her adoptive parent's name, but I don't know for sure. It could be her surname at birth, too, but unlikely. I would appreciate any help.
